Homebuyers Centre MOJO Estate

About

Homebuyers Centre has helped over 30,000 first home buyers into their very first homes. They’re known as one of Australia’s most trusted and affordable first home builders and they like to have a bit of fun with whatever they’re doing.

Their brand identity is strong and with that comes benefits and challenges, but they’re a great organisation to work with. We have a lot of experience filming in the building and construction industry and are always interested to see what new developments present themselves.

Task

In late 2019 Homebuyers Centre announced that they would be partnering with the Perth Wildcats NBL team in 2020, so they needed to get the word out! This video project was part of their push to promote this announcement and to start the (basket)ball rolling on their brand new relationship with the Wildcats.

Players Damian Martin and Mitch Norton came down for a fan visit at the soon-to-be-launched MOJO Estate by Homebuyers Centre. They ran games and drills with kids from several local basketball teams and had a sausage sizzle for everyone. It was a brilliant community atmosphere.

Approach

Well, the players weren’t there for long so we had to work fast. We had two cameras on the ground and a drone in the sky filming it all. The action was confined to the single basketball court and nearby playground but that didn’t stop there being plenty to film.

We interacted with the kids, the players, Wilbur the Wildcats mascot, and the parents and homeowners in the area. Overall it was a quick, fun, and wholesome family event.

Result

We love filming with the Wildcats and we’ve done so on plenty of occasions in the past. They always know how to make their fans feel loved, because they appreciate the support their red army gives them. The final edit shows just how much the local basketball fans get behind the Cats and brings together their brand with the Homebuyers Centre identity. A great way to kick off their partnership!
