Ronald McDonald House Charity Ball 2022
The Ronald McDonald House Charity Ball is one of the biggest and most looked-forward-to event on the Perth social calendar. Not only is it glamorous and filled with identities but it raises a whole lot of funds to help sick children, and their families, during the most difficult times of their lives.
We’ve been capturing the event for the last few years and it’s always full of life, vibrance, and fun.
We cover a lot of events and by now we’re very familiar with the layout and flow of proceedings at Crown ballroom. Our job was to capture all of the colour and energy of this fantastic event while showcasing the well-known faces in the crowd.
This is part event showcase and part people-spotting.
We had two cameras and a sound kit on the floor for the charity ball, roaming around and trying to be in the right place at the right time. As you can imagine there was a lot going on so we needed to be in multiple places at once to make sure we didn’t miss a thing.
The performances were awesome but added a challenge for us because of a second stage in the very centre of the room. It was in-the-round so finding the right angle was tough. Luckily the MC Sophie Monk had plenty of classic moments so there was a lot to film.
And once the band hit the stage and the guests hit the dancefloor it was all over for us.
The final video is a high-energy edit with a serious underlying message. It’s great for the guests to have fun on the night but the real important point is to remember why they’re there and to dig deep into their pockets for Ronald McDonald House Charities (which they did).
Another year done and dusted and we had a great time doing it.
